'I have asked, your hand to wed'
By Judith Bronte

Can you say, that you are mine,
Not just now, but for all time?

Do not lie, please tell me true,
My heart waits, to hear from you.

Some have thought, that love is blind,
Still God said, to seek and find.

Can you find, your way to me?
Come and set, my poor heart free.

You once said, our love would last-
For all time, it would stand fast.

Were those words, a wish I dreamed,
When you were, just as you seemed?

Did I see, or was I blind,
Tell me now, what's on your mind.

Should two walk, through this hard life,
Void of love, a man and wife?

I have asked, your hand to wed,
Could I get, your heart instead?

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"
~ Amos 3:3 ~
