Sweet Baby Jesus
By Judith Bronte
"Thus it is written by the prophet, And
thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda:
for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My people Israel."
~ Matthew 2:5, 6 ~
ince the days of old,
God's prophets foretold-
Messiah would show,
His love here below.
Shimmer natal star,
Take the message far-
Messiah has come!
Messiah has come!
Shepherds gather round,
To hear Angels sound-
"Peace on earth to men!
From now on- Amen!"
Perfect Sacrifice,
Now closes His eyes-
Angels hush their voice,
And quietly rejoice.
The cows and oxen know,
For their din dies low-
'Tis the Holy One,
Jehovah's own Son!
Wise men saw His star,
And journeyed afar-
"To worship the King-
Our love gifts we bring."
Myrrh, frankincense, gold,
The manger now hold-
Perfume fills the air,
While lips move in prayer.
Behold the little Lamb,
Whose name is "I Am"-
"God, with us tonight,
Lead us in His light!
Sweet baby Jesus,
Come to deliver us-
Such a debt we owe,
To One who loves us so!"
